Notes for UNFINISHED #1
- The dedication is for the people I was writing to.
- The business about pregnancy is based on discussions I've had with
large-breasted female friends. Some of the small-breasted women liked
suddenly having boobs (some didn't), but none of the large-breasted women
so far have cared.
- The name Gwen popped into my head. As I wrote the first bit of
this, there was a story on alt.sex.stories involving Gwen and Wendy; I
haven't read the story, but their names are in the subject line, so it
might have influenced me.
- I wrote the sex first, later added the name Merle. It's a tribute
to Merle Oberon, if anyone cares. (Not that I feel she looked like
this.)
- Because this was started as a toss-off, the style is largely me in
love with the sound of my own voice. Probably I'll have to fix that
before it's really finished, but I fell into a lot of alliteration and
assonance.
- So what else happens in the story? Well, somewhere along the line,
I wrote that Merle was the first person that the narrator fucked, made
love to, and slept with, so that naturally gave me a three-part story.
Since I happened to have put them in that order, that was the order
they'd be in the story.
-
Fucking I'd already done, so the next thing was making love. That
implied
that the relationship got more intense. Well, I feel that there's a
cusp
in all relationships, and if you cross it successfully (and not all of
the factors of success are conscious), then you're in something deeper
than just sex. But there has to be a trigger, something to let you know
you're committed to each other. I remembered the red nightshirt from a
Valentine's Day article in (I think) Canadian Living about
six years ago and borrowed it.
I ran out of time before I could finish the sex, though.
-
the implication of "sleep with" is that it's a close but less intense
relationship by that point. To me, that meant friendship, so they must
meet again after a number of years or months.
-
Lastly, since the intro talks about how this is the only
woman he'd have an affair with, we need to have Gwen's reaction to it
(it's not outraged, or she'd have gotten out of bed by now).
(And the topic of the message to Tom and Carol was affairs, so it
would be nice to tie that in, somehow.)
On to the next.
Back to the stories.
Back home.
